Nothing Has Been Easy BUT Praise God

Last night when I wrote I thought that Jeanne could have come back to the motel with me. Praise God that she was not released! Around 6 AM this morning she had her heart stop. Thanks to the quick work of the CCU staff she came back. I would have never been good enough to handle the situation if we had been in the motel.

We have spent the better part of the day dealing with the heart issue. The cardiologists decided that the slow heart rate is “Long Q T Syndrome”. Basically it takes the heart too long to recharge and fire off another shot of electrical energy. So what does that mean? Well this afternoon they did a Angiogram to make sure that there were no blockage issues and there were not. While they were in the heart they pulled a wire for a temporary pacemaker. She will be on the temporary for the night. Sometime tomorrow she will get a pacemaker installed. They will do the combo pacemaker/defibrillator so she will be protected should this happen again. Her heart rate is now at 60 BPM rather than the 33 to 40 we have been watching for the past few days.

Praise God we were in the right place!

Jeanne and I thank you for your comments and prayers. As soon as she is up to it she will be posting something thanking everyone.

The original issue with the Dural AVM has taken a back seat today. Her head still feels like it is "full" and the headache still persists. The Docs continue to tell her it was expected and it will get better.

  4. We were shocked to hear your latest news but relieved Jeanne was still in the hospital with the CCU nurses at the time. How lucky both of you are. Jeanne, you just get that pacemaker in and doing its job, and then both you and Skip can relax and get some needed rest.

If there is anything you need, don't hesitate to call us.

  5. We have been so worried all day and were glad when Gary K. had a chance to talk to you. Actually, Dan tried to call and realized the only cell # we have is Jeanne's!. God must surely be getting tired of hearing both of your names as we have been lifting them up on a continual basis! We are so glad to hear they have information as to why this is happening so they can be on the path to correcting it. We miss you both and look forward to spending time together and seeing, first hand, that you both are doing well. Please let us know if we can do anything at all for you.

  6. What an amazing week you've had. Just when you think things are going well, everything changes and each time the Lord is there watching and taking care. We're sorry, Jeanne, that you've had such a tough go, but in the end, all will be fine. We are at the house in the Hills and were, of course, hoping we'd get to see you. We'll call in the morning, or you can call us again. You are in our prayers. Let us know how we can help. Love, Marta and Dave

  7. Uncle Skip,

I usually don't believe in miracles, but Aunt Jeanne definitely got one. And I truly thank God for that. I am so thankful the doctors and you decided to be cautious and monitor her for one more night. Believe me, we've been praying non-stop, not just for Aunt Jeanne, but for strength for you, mom and Ellen.

    Hugs from Oregon

Love, Jenn, John, Jack and Julie
